DTA Puppet Boy: Cleaning Time

Every doll owner knows that every so often their dolls need a good cleaning, re-felting, and possibly a new face-up on those delicate bodies. As a serious doll owner, I know that all of my dolls are simple, well-behaved. I generally keep them all scheduled for a bi-monthy brush-off and every few months or so I check their posing felt. It's a simple process.

Until the little imp of a doll entered my life.

Now I have to suspend him to keep him from wiggling under my brush, and the fights he gives when it comes to re-felting his joints? Just awful. You'd think he could just get up and walk away by the fight he gives... but to many trials and tests, he just can't balance himself and his marionette crosses enough to walk across a table. Yes the string are removable, the tiny eyelets able to unscrew out with ease. But it's honestly the best way to make sure he won't go wandering off. He can't control his digits well, so he can't remove them himself.

I sympathize with him, yanno? He's mute, and so small compared to my other ball jointed dolls. His strings and marionette crosses came with him, but other then those and a simple black outfit, this guy looked like he had absolutely no love before he came into my possession. I wonder what he has to say about his old owners? They told me to be careful, he might be a demon hiding away in a toy, but what on earth would he be able to do as this toy? I think he's... not exactly alive... but he's not just a toy. He's definitely just a doll who needs gentle care and patience to try and tame whatever anger lingers in him.

For now.. I think I'll call him Gabriel.

I drew this as part of the DTA/WTA that is throwing!

Gosh I fell in love with him, and I wanted to get some practice out there for the doll parts.  figured a regular doll cleaning would get a bit stressful with a doll who looks just down and grumpy all the time, impish and rejects help. I liked the simplicity of his outfit in the original version, here -->Puppet Boy DTA/WTA Adopt [OPEN]...but I figured it hid the body that I love about BJDs. So tadaaaa!
